Abstract:
This talk will present the study of self-duality symmetries in free compact boson and Maxwell theory, with a focus on their kinematic implications in the twisted Hilbert space and the monodromy defect. For the compact boson and similar theories in "d=4n+2" dimensions, I will demonstrated how the zero mode quantization of the twisted Hilbert space is settled from the half-gauging topological defect.
Besides I will also discuss about the fusion rules, g-functions, and related aspects of such defects in free compact boson. For the Maxwell and similar theories in "d=4n" dimensions, me and my collaborators found that the analog of zero modes resides at the codim-2 boundary of the half-gauging defect.
Moreover, the DCFT of such a monodromy defect in Maxwell theory comprises a rigid, chiral, generalized free theory sector and a decoupled chiral current sector, which will be dissuced in detail.
